Your Passion for Writing is Beautiful
You are a passionate person. You have strong beliefs. You
have strong views. It is in your DNA.
When you latch onto an idea or cause, you will put a ton of
energy into it.
Your passion must be tempered with your need to be grounded.
You need to feel safe. In fact, safety is a very high priority. How do you
remain passionate and also stay grounded? Is this even possible?
As a creative person you get new ideas all of the time. You
are constantly being made aware of the next great thing that you are going to do.
This new thing will change your world. It will change the entire world. It
might be the thing that will guide an entire society towards healing. This
thing might even end all of the wars in the world. Yes. You have these
thoughts. Thankfully, we come back to reality fairly quickly. We realize that
we cannot save the world.
But, we do have our writing. In our beautiful, introverted
and empathic mind, we can focus on the idealistic goals we have for our life
and the soul of humanity. It’s not a bad thing that we think about these
things. I believe they are quite beautiful actually. It’s what sustains us.
Being able to transmit these ideas to paper is a bright spot in our lives. It’s
freedom. Having this passion for writing is what helps to keep us excited about
waking up in the morning. We are on a
mission to discover who we are, and how we can do something positive in the
world.
Passion can be used for good. It depends on what the focus
of the passion is. Using our energy to encourage people to see the beautiful
aspects of who they are is wonderful. This is our passion. When we are writing about
how amazing people are, we feel invigorated. We feel high. Runners get high off
of running. Musicians get high off of playing an amazing performance. We can
get the same endorphin rush when we write. It's amazing. As an introvert, there
is an amazing rush from being by ourselves. When we get alone and write, we
know we are going to be feeling great. It's awesome.
That's passion.
For us to survive in this world with all of this passion is
challenging. The way I'm navigating it recently is by setting time aside for my
writing. It must be made a priority. I write every day. Some days, I write only
20 words. On other days, I'm writing close to 1,000 words. Those are the good
days. Those are the days when I feel the biggest relief. It is a relief,
because I have allowed a part of me out that was pent up in there. Every day I
write. It is a beautiful habit. It has gotten to the place where if I don't
write very much in a day (less than 100 words) I feel miserable. Something was
missing.
How many times has this happened to you? You sat down to write
about something, and then your mind told you to go in a completely direction.
All I can say is that you have to follow your mind. This is another reason I
get passionate about writing. I never quite know where it will lead me. I get
excited when it's time to write. That means I will be making a discovery.
We all have bills to pay, and other responsibilities to
attend to on a daily basis. I believe that it is possible to nurture our
passion of writing, and also attend to the other things in life. While my
writing takes up a great deal of my time these times, I am also able to give
time to those people in my life who are important to me. It is about
priorities.
Writing is life giving to me. It is to you also. When you
follow your passion, you will find that the positive energy you get from it
will help you in all areas of life. When you are fulfilling your passion, it
will help you feel satisfied. It will give you more confidence. Life becomes
richer and more hopeful.
Stick with your passion. You will be grateful you did.
